Barnsley and Penistone Ramblers

The Barnsley and Penistone Ramblers were created in 1989 and now have a membership of just over 200 people covering the lower Pennine's such as Langsett Moors and the Dark Peak in the West, the flat lands bordering Doncaster in the East with Wakefield in the North  and Sheffield in the South.

2010 saw the Barnsley and Penistone Ramblers hosting the SYNED Area AGM and providing a magnificent cake to celebrate 75 years of the Ramblers and taking part in the 21st anniversary celebrations of the Trans Pennine Trail. 2010 also saw a footpath success at Eagles Nest, near Dunford Bridge in ensuring a footpath remains accessible.

Barnsley and Penistone Ramblers now have a specialist sub-group, the Barnsley 20s and 30s Walking Group, aimed primarily at the 'younger' Rambler.
